Revolution House, Chesterfield

Revolution House is a small Alehouse outside Chesterfield called the "Cock and Pynot" (old local word for Magpie.) It gained its new name after 3 local noblemen, the Earls of Danby and Devonshire, and Mr John D'Arcy, met and planned the overthrow of James II in favour of William and Mary of Orange: The Glorious Revolution of 1688.

Our event takes place a few years later in 1692. Just an ordinary day in the alehouse, and reflected upon life in a village, the joys of 17th century travel and the past revolution.
