We are a small, nationally based interpretation group, covering the Tudor and Stuart periods, specialising in domestic life. What we do best is take an historic house and allow you to experience history in the place it was made.

"The poetry of history lies in the quasi-miraculous fact that once, on this earth, on this familiar spot of ground, walked other men and women, as actual as we are today..."

The Separatists: 17th July 2021
Postponed from last year's 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower, we will be depicting some of the Separatists that left Gainsborough in 1608. After settling in the Netherlands for a few years, they ended up on the Mayflower.

Food & Finery: 7-8 August 2021
We're bringing a Hunting Party Ambigue to the museum. Hopefully the rain will stay away and we can make the most of the lovely grounds.

We are a small but nationally based interpretation group, covering Tudor and Stuart domestic life. Founded in 1992, we have been recreating historic families and communities in first person, with associated 'Red T' guides, to give visitors of historic houses a rounded, educational and memorable visit.

History Re-enactment Workshop. Registered Charity Nº 1040799
We specialise in turning an old house into a home, bringing a Tudor or Stuart family to life, to fully interact with your visitors.
We can also offer a range of variations around the same period, depending on what you have available.
We are always keen for new people to come and join us. As we recreate domestic life, we're open to all ages. No previous experience or in depth knowledge is required. The 'Workshop' in our title is all about training our members.
